Many West End shows sought validation and moved from London to New York. And many of them have achieved great success. On the other hand, many plays have gathered so much global interest that they moved all over the world including West End. Here are the best Broadway shows on West End. 

Come From Away    

Come Away opens its heart to a West End audience. It is telling the story of the 38 planes that made emergency landings in the United States. It is all after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. 

The musical won the Olivier Award in four categories in 2019, including best new musical. Written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein and featuring a visit to the victims of Operation Yellow Ribbon. This is a heartwarming musical in which 12 actors play 84 characters. They capture the friendly and heartfelt nature of the Gander inhabitants in hectic days.

Dear Evan Hansen  

Unsurprisingly, Evan Hansen is one of the most sought-after tickets in London. Tickets are currently available for a limited time on the London Theatre Company website. 

Starring newcomer Sam Tutty, Dear Evan Hansen has already earned its place as one of the most popular Broadway musicals of all time and a must-see – see London show. It was universally praised as the story of a teenager who longs to find himself with his peers and won six Tony Awards for it. 

Pretty Woman    

Pretty Woman in the West End will be part of a huge musical that will conquer London in 2020, and the cast has already been announced. Lin – Manuel Miranda’s epic musical, which tells the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton, has won 11 Tony Awards, making it one of the most successful musicals of all time. In 2017, Hamilton wowed audiences at the Victoria Palace Theatre, where he has been performing ever since. After the assassination of President George Washington by his rival Thomas Jefferson, in which Miranda also played the lead role at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, a fight ensues between the federalists and the cabinet. 

Strolling the streets of Piccadilly Theatre in the West End, the story of a businessman who develops an unexpected relationship with an escort. It made its debut in 2018. True to the film, Pretty Woman is being presented by the London Theatre Company. It will star including Kate Winslet, Judy Greer, and Garry Marshall. 

Book of Mormon    

The Book of Mormons broke box office records when it opened on Broadway. Ever since found its way across the pond to spread the story of Elder Price and Elder Cunningham. The two missionaries try, with varying degrees of success, to convert Ugandans to Mormons. The musical is consistently funny and the cast, with actors and supporting characters, excels in their roles. 

Hairspray    

When Hairspray Beat first appeared on Broadway in 2002. And audiences couldn’t get enough of it. When it returned to the city for the Coliseum in London, they watched in amazement. 

West End debutante Lizzie Bea stars alongside Michael Ball, who reprises his role as Corny Collins, and Tracy Turnblad regain her confidence after Collins shows her the wrong side of her true self. A forward-thinking and receptive crowd wants to change, but what about the brave teenager whose confidence is regained by Tracy and Turn Blad? 

Moulin Rouge    

Based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film and starring a cast that includes Sia, Chandelier, and Madonna’s Material Girl, Love – a striking new musical about the life and times of the Moulin Rouge – comes to life in London. In a review in the New York Theatre Guide, Mark Shenton said: ‘Moulins Rouge is steeped in drama and emotion on screen, and it will certainly do the same when it opens at the Piccadilly Theatre in 2021.
